my studio

window to left looks out onto front porch
this is my favorite room in the house. not because it’s my studio, necessarily. but, because the morning sun comes in that big front window early early every morning, and floods the room with a blinding bright light. i tiptoe in here, in the dark, and throw open the wooden blinds, and sit down and get ready to watch the show. it’s the only room in the house that gets sunlight, and it only lasts for a couple minutes a day. i also have to get out of my very warm bed, and come downstairs to see it, but it really is appreciated on cold, winter days.
sooo, despite all that went on in the past couple weeks, we somehow did manage to finish up the floor in the front room – aka my studio. greg did the sanding and staining. i came in at the end with 3 coats of polyurethane. i also cleaned that nasty, dirty rug, and almost blew up my steam cleaner doing it. it kept overheating and smoking.
so today, ryan is going to help me paint the walls, and we may start moving things in tonight. it’s going to be 74F and sunny here today. gorgeous gorgeous day!!

in our new class (starting soon with misty) she asked us to post our studio’s on the ‘layers class facebook’. i showed 2 little clean spots in my room and they are lame pics, but is fun to do, eh? xo wanda

my real name is katherine, which i absolutely love. friends and family from back home call me kathy because that’s what most people called me growing up. i’m also called kat, kit kat, katie, katydid..i could go on and on. :) i prefer katie or katherine. but really, as long as they’re not calling me curse names, and shaking their fists at me, i answer to any of the above. :D
i have to give greg most of the credit for the room, honestly. he worked his butt off while i sat and moaned. :)
awww..misty. i have to sit this one out, but i sooo want to take one of her classes. she is such an inspiration. love love her.
DOUG..you called him Doug, remember? :D And, I asked who’s Doug? And you said the dude who chomps popcorn too loud!! hahaha!!
It is lovely to have a “window into your life” too, Miz Kit Kat! It’s a beautiful room. I can just imagine that morning sunshine. Congratulations on the floors. Ha ha, I recognize the fan action from when we did our wood floors some years ago. Man, did we need some serious fan action!! Hey, what kind of steam cleaner did you use on your rug? You own one? I want to get one.
how is doug by the way (dang, i was hoping to surprise you) is that the back of his tennis shoes and jeans in the picture? i love your doggy. xo
