painting makeover
macro shots of painting
I need to work on more shots like this because the details are important.
I decided to give one of my recent paintings a makeover today. I had already worked on this one for 2 or 3 days, and thought it was finished. However, when I got the photos ready for an Ebay auction last week, I started to have second thoughts. Suddenly, I didn’t like her as much as I originally thought. I went ahead and posted the auction, but something about the painting haunted me all week. The more I looked at the painting, the more I didn’t like it.
I decided that if it didn’t sell, I was going to take that as a sign that it definitely needed more work. So, when the auction ended Friday night without a bid, I knew what I was going to do this weekend. Re-work the painting. Makeover time!!
These photos don’t show the true colors of the painting, but I had fun making them. The light on my desk isn’t clear white, so there is a yellow hue on the painting. I’ll be re-taking the photos before offering it for sale again. I still think it needs a tad bit more work first, but she is showing an improvement, which I like.
ps: The video I posted of Lola yesterday got some attention on Sick Puppies website. Lola’s a super star!! YAY!!

Dear Miz Katie, Thank you for the painting encouragement – it means a lot to me coming from you. I DO love the details and the texture in these close ups!
