greg bought me a huge bar of patchouli soap from the health food store yesterday. i wasn’t sure if i liked it. it kinda smelled..well, awful, to be honest. but, this morning i tried it, and oooh la la. i smell like a fresh clean hippie, and i LOVE it. makes me want to put on a long skirt and burn some incense.
Another assignment for Suzi’s workshop was to make a healing art journal. We are going to record our art progress in it each day. I finally got mine finished today. Well, it’s still a work in progress, but I got the gist of it done. I will seal it in beeswax once I’m sure I’m finished messing with it.
She is holding a sign which reads: I AM WORTHY.
And, you better believe I AM.
I am worthy of making art.
I am worthy of calling myself an artist.
And, so are you!
If you don’t believe me, just watch this…
Oh, and to give you an idea of the great artists in Suzi’s workshop, you should take a look at the links below. Aren’t these artists fabulous?
And that’s just barely making a dent in all the wonderful art I’ve been wallowing in since this class started. It’s only been a week, and it was well worth the $55 for this class. Suzi is going way above the call of duty..making us extra videos and pdfs. She is really putting her all into this. And..I have 7 more weeks to go! YAY!!!!
i have been having fun in suzi blu’s workshop. i can see a slight improvement as the week wears down. I have done pages and pages of these little girls.
honestly, i’m not sure that i like them. i am trying to find my own style, and haven’t yet. my petite dolls kinda look goth to me, and that’s not really what i was striving for. i think my hand got a little heavy on the shading. heh!
i’m sure it will get easier when we start painting and layering. i always do much better with a paintbrush, than i do a pencil. it all starts to make sense (to me) once i start layering on paint and figuring out the background, for some reason.
this is a good beginning, and i’m not going to be too hard on myself. i said i wanted to have fun when i signed up for the course, and by golly i am!! i have met the most fabulous women. they are very supportive and friendly. i could hang out on ning all day. the workshop now has 270 people in it, so there’s no chance of being bored. i just go from one to the other and look at their art. i feel like i’m neglecting other areas of my online life because i’m having too much fun in this class. heh! oh well.
i was a little disappointed that i only got one taker on my last entry. Surely you’d like some mail art from me, huh? C’mon, now! don’t be shy. i know you’re reading because it comes up in my wordpress dashboard stats report. heh! yeah, i see YOU! you might as well comment and get some mail art loving. Friends at lj are more than welcome to comment, too. Either at lj or here on my blog.
EDIT: I have received three comments, so this offer is closed. Thanks for playing, ladies. I’ll get your goodies mailed out asap.

This is how it works: I will send a gift of my choice to the first 3 people who leave a comment on my blog and ASK to join this “Pay it Forward” exchange. You must make the same pledge on your blog! Please keep the item small, so that it can be mailed in a mailing envelope or small box. My item will more than likely be art or art related. or maybe a cupcake. who knows?
So, if you want to receive goodies from me and are willing to do the same on your blog, leave a comment and let me know!!! I will need your email and mailing address from each of you, so that I can get your goodies out in the mail. Oh, and if you stopped by and you don’t want to play, you can still leave me a comment and let me know you were here! His wife was at work. All his laundry was dirty. Good thing he knew his way around the laundry room. He threw a big ole load in the washer.
He, in his underwear, sat down and watched a bit of tv.
After the wash had finished its last spin cycle, he realized he had nothing to wear out to the clothesline. So, he borrowed his wife’s skirt and sweater. As he hung up his orange shirt, he glanced around to make sure no one was watching him.
This is a 6×6 print mounted on chipboard and sealed with beeswax. It’s made from a painting I did a few months ago. The original is not for sale, but you can get the reproduction in my etsy shop.
This painting was created because lately my little neighborhood is much too noisy. Dogs bark all night and keep me awake. Dogs bark all day, which makes me lose my concentration. A very sweet, but noisy guinea hen likes to hang out in the backyard. She squawks all day. Kids, kids, everywhere!! Noisy, RUDE, distracting KIDS. Kids who come up on my porch and move furniture around at midnight. Kids who play on my lawn when I haven’t invited them. argh!! If only I could have my quarters moved. That would be ideal!
This one took a while, which is why I’ve been so quiet lately. I’ve been bizzy, making a mess, getting things done. This was a big project. I decided to paint both the front and back covers this time. Not only that, but there are several layers. Several. It took about a week to complete. It’s quite big - 8 3/4″ W x 11″ L.
As always, photos enlarge when you click them.

i’m really getting tired of looking at my past entries, every time i come here. it looks so stale as i scroll down the page. i haven’t been keeping a good pace around here lately. i’m a slacker. so i’m going to blog it up!! Yeah.
hey, did i ever tell you that one time i blogged for 24 hours straight, putting up a new entry every 1/2 hour for charity? i think i slept for a week after that. i made a lot of money for my charity, though, so it was worth it.
oh, damn. looks like blogathon just happened on july 28th this year. too bad. i’d sooo do it again. it was really fun once the delirium set in. heh! and it did! oh boy, did it!! but i had lots of friends from around the world who kept me awake by sending ims and email. i also had a lot of coffee. it was silly, crazy, incredibly boring and too quiet at times, hysterically funny, never ending and emotional. i’d do it again in a heartbeat, though.
oh hey, i put up a section for my photographs the other day. haven’t mentioned it here because i didn’t have many uploaded. there’s a few there now, so have a look if you like. i’ve been told my photographs are “moody”. i think so, too.
okay, i’ll be back in a little bit with photos of a new scrapbook/photo album/art journal i’ve made, and another mixed media piece on wood.
i set up a zazzle account today, and now i have three of my favorite collaged paintings on the side of mugs. woah! it’s a little strange to see something that i made with my own two hands mounted onto a cup like that. heh. looks like something you could buy in a department store. only better, right? heh!
oh, and i put the image on both sides of the mug, so you can see it whether you’re right or left-handed. cool, eh?
i gotta tell you, i have been having such fun in the Les Petite Dolls workshop so far, and class hasn’t even started yet. i have chatting with the most fabulous people. oh hey, if you want to chat with me, i put a chat thingy in the sidebar. you don’t have to be taking the workshop to chat. just click the link and it will open up a chat window, so we can talk. it’s such fun, really. do it! do it!!
