Page from my art journal.
I’ve been working on abstract paintings, and I really love it.
I mean, I love the process. I’m not so good at the painting part, yet.
I need more practice.
I also painted 3 seascapes tonight. One after the other. And, I like them all. Even the one I completely destroyed, and had to start again.
This page isn’t finished. Not sure what I’m going to do with it. But, it doesn’t feel complete yet. Got some playing left to do.

Crazy! It was 70F on February 1st. My back porch was warm and sunny. Tonight, a thunderstorm has been hanging overhead for about an hour, and will be sticking around all day tomorrow. Looking forward to that, as I always do. I love stormy days, and we haven’t had many this winter. Sunny and warm it’s been. I was kinda looking forward to a snow storm or two, but nah. Not this year, I guess. There’s a blizzard just slightly north of us, but we’re gonna get lots of rain.
Big Red Fred
70F, and the big red dog was panting, and begging to come inside. Fred can’t take the heat or the cold. He is very fussy about the temperature, and wants it controlled. Not too cold. Not too hot.

Lana Del Rey was on Letterman tonight, and I was watching. I don’t care what the critics say about her. I think they’re all wrong! I love her style and voice.
Happy PPF everyone! It’s late, and I gotta get to bed. Be sure to click on the big “Miz Katie” at the top of the page, and look back at other posts. I’ve been updating quite a bit this week.
The heat is OFF.
The windows are OPEN.
It is such a beautiful day!
I started the day off with music, watching this video for the umpteenth time.
Oh, hey..if you like this song, Travel as Equals, by Joseph Arthur, head over to his site and download his new double album for free!! It don’t get no better than that!
Greg and Sweet Pea kitty, who was born without eyes.
Greg didn’t want me to take his picture cuz he had bed hair.
i took it anyway.
I’m glad I did.
After kissing Greg goodbye, I started playing in my art journal. We’re working on abstract today in Misty’s class. So sooo much fun. I can’t tell you how much I love this class. And no, I’m not making any monetary gain for writing about her class every day. lol
Isn’t this ugly?
Yeah.
I know.
And, I LOVE it!!
lol
Sometimes, it is pure bliss to let yourself play without being concerned with the outcome, especially when you’re a working artist. Sometimes, I don’t want to make something good enough to sell. Sometimes, I just want to make mud on a page in my art journal, and call it good enough. I made purplish slush, and I don’t even like the color purple. lol
camera setup
I’ve been painting with the camera rolling lately. I want to get back into making youtube videos. So, yesterday I filmed for 3 or 4 hours. Hopefully, I get something to show out of it.
Oh, this has turned into one of those long blog posts again. lol I’ve really been enjoying blogging lately, and I think I’ve found my rhythm here.
I’m going to leave you with a really cool album to stream by Dylan Connor. Click and listen.
It is so crazy warm here this year. I saw these motorcycles out on 50 a couple weeks ago.
Greg took this photo of me at the river by our apartment in WV a few years ago.
Wordless Wednesday - the site seems to be down this morning, but I’m going to post my photos anyway.
